With Bank Holidays soon upon us and the long summer break just around the corner, inspiration for family days out is in abundance as Enjoy England launches Family Fun, the must-have family guide for 2007/8.
Launched in association with the National Trust, Family Fun is a new campaign aimed at families and what’s more, it’s completely free! Ninety of England’s top family attractions are highlighted on a child-friendly foldable map and an interactive website features thousands more, as well as a brand new searchable database of family-friendly accommodation.
For a free colour Family Fun map and stickers, call 0845 603 6956
or visit the fun-packed, interactive website www.enjoyengland.com/family
Navigate the map to uncover the top ten attractions in England’s nine regions, themed around Amusement Parks, Animals, Nature, Exploring & Discovery, Arts and Water and not forgetting National Trust gems. Kids will love using the stickers and score chart to mark off and rate attractions they have visited, whilst colourful cartoon character Major Fun pops up on both the map and website to guide families on their own adventures.
2007’s hot new family additions include the launch of a white-knuckle ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach - the new INFUSION rollercoaster, a close encounter of a new kind at the Gorilla Kingdom, London Zoo and a curious treehouse adventure at Bewilderwood, the latest attraction in the Norfolk Broads.
There’s something for all ages at National Trust properties around England, from dressing up a medieval monk at Fountains Abbey in Yorkshire, to taking part in a rockpool ramble or seaside sculpture challenge at Souter Lighthouse in Sunderland, or exploring the nature and wildlife at Brownsea Island, which starred as Kirrin Island in Enid Blyton’s Famous Five books.
The fully interactive website www.enjoyengland.com/family will be relaunched as part of the campaign, with special sections for children and parents:
• The Kids Zone will feature an interactive map showcasing thousands of attractions in England, downloadable activity sheets, games, kids’ reviews and special offers.
• The Parents Zone includes a family-friendly accommodation search, top events, practical information on travelling with children, helpful links and a special offers section with ‘2for1’ and ‘Kids Go Free’ vouchers for selected attractions.
