Enjoy England is delighted to announce the launch of the Enjoy England Travel Journalist Award.

Dear Journalist,
 

Enjoy England is delighted to announce the launch of the Enjoy England Travel Journalist Award, which will be announced at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2008, sponsored by the Caravan Club, in Liverpool on St George’s Day next year.
 

VisitEngland chairman Hugh Taylor, explained:

“Support from our friends in the media is fundamental in maintaining England’s reputation as an increasingly popular tourism destination in the UK. With so many inspirational pieces written and produced each year showcasing England’s impressive variety and diversity, we are keen to highlight and reward such high quality journalism”.

 

The Enjoy England Travel Journalist Award is open to all travel writers and broadcasters who have published in 2007 in UK media. The winner will be crowned on 23rd April 2008 at the Enjoy England awards for excellence in Liverpool – which finalists will be invited to attend as our guests. The winning journalist will received a £500 prize.

 

Eligible Entries

We are looking for an article of 500 words or more or a broadcast of more than two minutes that encourages UK residents to holiday in England. The article could have been published in a magazine, newspaper or online. Consideration will be given to the quality of the article, inclusion of practical information and/or mention of the Enjoy England website and audience reach. Entries will be judged by the independent panel of judges who judge the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2008.

 

To enter

All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must have been published in 2007.

Please send two copies of the article, one of which must be an original copy, as well as a copy of the manuscript originally submitted. In a covering letter please give your details and the publication, date of publication and circulation details.

If a broadcast entry does not appear under the entrant’s name, confirmation should be included from the programme producer that the entrant is entitled to claim the feature as their own work.

The deadline for entry is close of business Friday 18th January 2008. Proof of postage will not be accepted as proof of delivery.

 

Rules and Conditions of Entry

§         The competition is not open to employees of VisitBritain or their families

 

§         The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into

 

§         Entries will not be returned

 

§         VisitBritain reserves the right to publish details of the winning entries.

 

§         There is no limit to the number of articles or broadcasts an individual journalist may enter
