The VisitEngland marketing team continues to implement exciting, innovative and high impact marketing campaigns across the full spectrum of media – all supported by consumer and corporate public relations activity. This activity helps to grow the value of English tourism, improve the visitor experience and adds value at national level which cannot be achieved solely at a regional level.
VisitEngland currently has a number of high profile marketing campaigns either live or in development to support the success of English tourism this year. This includes a £3 million marketing campaign which has a strong ‘value’ message and includes television and national press advertising.
Marketing activity engages with the private sector in a genuine public / private partnership and other key stakeholders such as Regional Development Agencies and VisitBritain in order to achieve the greatest return on investment. The wide range of marketing partners have to-date been as diverse as Walkers Crisps, The Times and the British Holiday and Holiday Parks Association (BH&HPA).
In addition, international marketing provides a platform for English regional marketing activity at a national level. Effective regional spend is achieved through creating a ‘gateway’ England brand presence in agreed short-haul and long-haul familiar markets, complementing England regional marketing activity. In short-haul and long-haul unfamiliar markets, England will be one of VisitBritain’s portfolio partners, marketing England as part of brand Britain. In addition VisitEngland promotes England as a location for conferences and business events both domestically and internationally.
VisitEngland is also an authoritative voice for England as tourism destination, communicating with key journalists to attain coverage in national and international press, broadcast and online. This communications activity targets both consumers directly and key stakeholders.
