Writing an Access Statement for your business
By providing an Access Statement you can help all visitors who have specific access requirements plan a day out to your attraction or overnight stay at your accommodation. These may be people who have a disability such as hearing loss and arthritis; wheelchair users; mothers with pushchairs; older people.
Description of your current facilities and services
An Access Statement is a written, clear and accurate, and above all honest, description of your current facilities and services.
Allows the customer to make an informed decision
The purpose of the Statement is to enable a potential visitor to make an informed decision as to whether your attraction/accommodation meets their particular access needs.
Valuable marketing tool
An Access Statement can enhance the quality of service you offer to all of your visitors and can be a valuable marketing tool for your business.
