Air Force Museum in Hendon

Bruno, Age: 6

My favourite place to visit in London is the Air Force Museum in Hendon. I love the computers that tell you about all the different airplanes -my favourites are the videos about the Eurofighter Typhoon, the Harrier (vertical take-off and landing!) and helicopters. That's where we take our friends visiting from out of town if they have kids. It’s great because it’s free so my mum and dad don’t have to pay and they have money to buy something in the gift shop for me.

My trip to Chessington World!!!!

Kiki, Age: 9

That day was fantastic and I am going to tell you all about it! We woke up at about 6am. We got changed then got in the car and we started our journey to Chessington World of Adventures. We were nearly there after a few hours and I was hungry by that time. I was glad I had the apple I brought with me earlier before we left.

At last we got there. We got out of the car and we went to the rides and looked at them. There is a big roller coaster and it was very good and a very big coaster it is and I was very exited but my dad was always worried about me but I enjoyed it. When I went on it my hair blew a bit behind me. There is a big car wheel thing where you I think you roll it or something but it does really cool things. I went with my mum and my dad. I thought we were only staying for a while but my mum said we might stay here for the whole day! I went on the roller coaster twice and it was fantastic.

Soon I felt very hungry and so did my mum and dad. So we went and got some hotdogs. My one was delicious because I put too much ketchup on it .I had two hotdogs and my mum and dad had one each. Then I wanted to go on the car wheel and so I was allowed and I was excited. After my dad and mum took me to this water fountain and I splashed around in it for a while, trying to swim.

It was fantastic day out and I wish my mum and dad take me again and here is me one of the ride….

My Unforgettable Memories of Margate

Fiona, Age: 9

One day in summer, my and my friend’s families all went to Margate for our holiday, for one day. Well we had to wake up v-e-r-r--y early in the morning like around six ‘o’ clock, because it took about 2 hours to get there! On the car ride we sang along to the top ten chart hit singles and played I Spy, Hangman, Musical letters, Guess The Tune and many more!

Once we arrived, we were all changed and ready to head to the beach. We splashed and chased each other around the water and then swam and swam for hours.

After a wonderful lunch we headed  to the arcade. We played lots of games and didn’t have that much luck but we did get some things. After the arcade we joyfully skipped to the fair impatiently. When we arrived we were astonished at the site of all the games and rides.

We went on some really cool rides and it was completely utterly WICKED!! Then we went on the best one of all, it was called ‘The Queen Of The Masters’!!! We had to wait a bit because of the queue but when we finally got there we held each other’s hand and nervously stepped into the carriage. After the ride we classified it as the ride of all rides and thought the name suited it perfectly.

Our parents then asked us to choose which game or ride we loved most and have one more go for the last time and then we had to sadly say goodbye! We surely did not want to leave but we had to and hoped we would come again someday.

Margate is definitely the most incredible seaside and absolutely the place to go for kids! You see it is a very busy place, full of fun, with lots of activities to do.

Imperial War Museum Duxford

James, Age: 13

This was a great day out for all our family. There was a great range of things to do and see for all ages to keep everyone interested.

The best bits for me were:

• Going aboard the real Concorde and seeing how small the interior was
• Going in the flight simulator helped me imagine how hard it would be to fly a plane and how hard it would be to shoot a plane down
• The new hangar with planes hanging from the ceiling was really impressive – seeing the B52 bomber up close was my favourite exhibit.  It made me realise how big in scale it was compared to many of the other aircraft
• It was great to see all the tanks in the ‘Normandy Experience’ exhibition

I would like to go back once the new ‘Airspace Hall’ is complete and see the rare aircraft suspended from the ceiling.

Adventure Island, Southend

Charlotte, Age: 6

During the half-term holidays I went to my Nana and Papa’s and I had great adventures. One of the adventures, which I am going to tell you about today, was my favourite one. It all began like this….

My Nana and Papa took me to Southend in Essex. They took me to a funfair called Adventure Island.  My first ride was so much fun – we sat on a bench facing a screen like we were going to watch a video ….and we were. Nana said: “Nothing will come to harm you” because I was really nervous!

Then – all of a sudden – the video began. There was a ship. On the ship there was a pirate and a parrot (but the parrot only came on now and again doing funny things). The pirate began to tell his story. He went on about a storm. First he said that wind began to blow and, as he said it, it all went dark. Then water started spraying over the side of the bench and all over us! Then the benches started rocking! All too fast it was the end of the ride.

Next, I went on a little rowing boat ride with my friend. First, it just went smoothly and then it began to bob up and down. It went round three times and then it was finished.

I also really enjoyed going on the flying elephants. They really felt as though they were flying up and down in the air!

Finally, I went into the Crooked House. It was really funny – all the pathways were wonky! Now and again you saw the Crooked Man and his Crooked Cat in different rooms. When you pressed the buttons the man and cat moved. It was really fun.

I went on loads more rides but they are for another story! All too soon it was time to go home. I had a great time and I hope you enjoyed my story.
