Getting outdoors

What better way to bond with new friends than by sampling England’s stirring countryside on a walking break – particularly when the planning has already been done for you. Knobbly Stick Walking Holidays provide excellent itinerary-based breaks in the Lake District and the Peak District. The younger crowd may prefer to check out the Singles Walking Weekends provided by Events Together, which include a range of varied routes and awe-inspiring views.

City breaks

Shopping on a city break

If leaping around the hills of the Lake District isn’t really your bag, then take in a different side of England and explore its towns and cities as part of an organised singles’ party. Solo Holidays provide a range of great short breaks to places such as Oxford, York, Bristol and Cheshire, and are all about exploring these destinations at your own pace with plenty of opportunities to shop, take in the sights, or simply relax with new friends. They also provide special festive packages for over the Christmas period.

Speciality weekends

Solos Holidays offer a broad range of packages for single travellers of all ages from adventure and rambling weekends to black-tie events, and speciality weekends such as Ceroc dancing, comedy writing, and cooking with chilies. They also organise trips for one-off sporting events such as Royal Ascot and the Grand National.

Activity breaks

Climbing in the Peak District

If you’re searching for some real adventure, why not try a weekend away on the open sea manning a yacht cruise? Events Together run some fantastic breaks, whether you’re a seasoned sailor or novice. Soak up the incredible atmosphere and get to know an intimate group as you work as a crew and learn the ways of the sea.

Climbing weekends for groups of up to 20 people are also available for those who prefer their excitement on terra firma. Discover the true meaning of ‘teamwork’ as you and your buddy (as part of a group) abseil cliff faces and traverse valleys. As well as the obvious physical challenges, you’ll also learn about the geology and biology of the environments you’ll be climbing.
