The Mayor's Thames Festival Firework Display off Southwark Bridge - River Thames, London

The display includes more than half a tonne of giant fireworks, some of which shoot over 600ft into the sky before exploding, and takes a team of eight pyrotechnicians two days to set it all up. It's one of London's most spectacular annual displays, and you'll be able to see the fireworks for miles, but for the best view of all head down to Victoria Embankment.

Lancaster Fireworks Spectacular - Castle Green, Lancaster

The north's most spectacular free fireworks display takes place in the Castle Hill area above the historic city of Lancaster. Food stalls open and build-up music from 6pm. Fireworks launched at 8pm. Finishing at 8.25pm with the Priory Bells.

Fireworks explode to music during Liverpool's spectacular Bonfire Night events, which take place at Sefton Park, Walton Hall Park and Newsham Park. Up to 100,000 people come from all over the city and the surrounding area to enjoy the displays. All the displays start at 7.30pm and last for around 20 minutes.

Exploding high above Bitts Park on the banks of the River Eden, the Fireshow is Carlisle's traditional bonfire night celebration, remembering Guy Fawkes' dastardly terrorist plot.
