Spring Bank Holiday
With warmer weather upon us and everything in bloom, the Spring Bank Holiday is the perfect time to get out and enjoy England. There’s plenty going on. You could head to Goodwood near Chichester in West Sussex and catch the races. You could also put your survival skills and teamwork to the test in the Woodland Explorers Adventure at Painshill Park in Cobham, Surrey.
If you’re feeling traditional, one very old Spring Bank Holiday celebration still taking place is the cheese rolling event at Coopers Hill in Gloucestershire. For at least 200 years some brave contestants have been chasing cheese down the hill. It’s very entertaining to watch! If you fancy something a bit more sedate head to Northumberland for the North County Show, where you’ll find lots of events to keep you and the children amused. And if you’re up for a party check out Evolution in Newcastle Gateshead.
If nothing above grabs you or you don’t live close enough, pick up the phone to your local Tourist Information Centre and find out what’s happening near you. And if you need some holiday inspiration then read our ideas and offers below. You’ll find ‘two for ones’ and other offers on suggestions from family days out to adrenaline activities to ideas for great weekend breaks and lots more.
