Bath International Music Festival

The Bath International Music Festival has an illustrious artistic history and has long been a well -established event of national significance and international reputation, presenting a dynamic mix of world-class performers. The Festival takes place annually over 17 days in late May/early June, and showcases a rich range of high quality events featuring orchestral and classical virtuosos, jazz giants, folk, roots and world musicians, and electronica artists.
Highlights from the 2008 Festival included the Messiaen Centenary Celebration concert in Bath Abbey, a collaboration between the Britten Sinfonia, Bath Camerata and voice and oud artist Dhaffer Yousef; classic jazz from the McCoy Tyner Trio, a storming opening night concert by the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sir Colin Davis, and a mammoth night of free music in Bath city centre Party in the City.
The next Bath International Music Festival takes place on 22nd May - 6th June 2009.
