Brockhole - Lake District Visitor Centre
Type : Heritage/Visitor Centre
Location : Windermere
Enjoy a day out at the National Park Visitor Centre. Our indoor exhibitions, the famous Thomas Mawson gardens and an exciting adventure playground ensure something for all the family.
Take a boat trip from our jetty to Waterhead, or hire a rowing boat or canoe. We also have special event days.
Visit the cafe for morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea and browse around our shop for books and gifts to take home. Ask our helpful information team to plan your stay in the Lake District.
Out in the grounds enjoy 10 acres of formal gardens, where acid soil and a mild aspect means you will see many unusual plants. There are 20 acres of wild flower meadow and woodland with a wide variety of trees and plants.
Entry is free; car park charges only. Booked coach groups park for free. Book in a group for lunch or afternoon tea to enjoy a discount in our cafe.
Customers with limited mobility are well catered for. Ask to use our Brockmobile to gain access to the garden or be collected from the car park. We also have an electric scooter and wheelchair for you to borrow free of charge.
