South Shields Museum and Art Gallery explores local history during the life and times of Catherine Cookson, as well as examining how the natural landscape has shaped the history of the area.
It features an art gallery with a difference combining many of the museums paintings with hands-on displays. There is also a changing temporary exhibition programme.
