Malham Tarn

Malham Tarn
Type : Nature Reserve
Location : Settle

The Malham Tarn Estate is a popular Dales beauty spot, set amid rolling hills and rugged moorland. Malham Tarn itself, the highest glacial lake in England, is a popular focal point in Malhamdale's classic limestone countryside. On its Western shore is Tarn Moss, a wetland haven for birds and wildlife.

While you are here, why not explore the local area, along one of the many popular walking routes such as those to Malham Cove and Janet's Foss, a picturesque waterfall near Malham. To the North-West, the wide expanse of Fountains Fell offers more challenging open access hill-walking and a chance to really escape from the crowds.
