The reserve, with its attractive mixed woodland and heathland, supports a wide variety of birds and wildlife including woodpeckers, nuthatches, tits and finches. The formal gardens, run by organic methods, are also open to the public. Nature trails vary in length, the longest being 3.5 miles.
