Larmer Tree Gardens

Larmer Tree Gardens
Type : Garden
Location : Salisbury

The Gardens were created by General Pitt Rivers in 1880 as pleasure grounds for ‘public enlightenment and entertainment’ and are an extraordinary example of Victorian extravagance and vision. The Gardens contain a wonderful collection of ornate buildings and majestic trees and have an enchanted, timeless atmosphere.

They are ideal for a picnic on the lawns or within the secluded picnic areas. Group visits with a guided informal talk on the history of the Larmer Tree, plus cream tea or light lunch, can easily be arranged.
