There is an authentic period street of around 1890 with shops and houses. The museum features a Victorian gallery with sculptures, paintings and decorative arts, and stages temporary exhibitions throughout the year. It also has a 20thC art collection, and decorative arts including Pilkingtons. New to the museum is a Lifetimes Gallery, showcasing Salford past and present, with exhibitions, listening points, IT zone, activities and hands-on elements. A local history library is housed at the museum.
