The Guildhall Museum's display cases house a wide range of exhibits, from pre-history to the early 19thC. Children can enjoy hands-on features. A life-size replica of a convict hulk which was once moored on the River Medway forms the centrepiece of the displays. The Guildhall has a fine plaster ceiling and paintings. The Conservancy Wing has a theme of local life in the 19th and early 20thC, with displays on architecture, home life, toys and dolls. Local theatres and music hall entertainment are highlighted with audiovisual methods and posters.
The Dickens Discovery Room and associated audio visual theatre highlight Charles Dickens' close links with the Medway towns.
