Wollaton Hall, Natural History Museum & The Industrial Museum

A fine example of Elizabethan domestic architecture. Built by Sir Francis Willoughby between 1580 and 1588 with a basement, great hall and exterior exactly as they were built. There are formal gardens, a deer park, a lake, an 18thC boathouse and dovecote, an early 19thC cast iron camellia house. The Hall now houses the city of Nottingham's Natural History Museum with collections of botany, zoology and geology from around the world. There is an African mammals gallery with interactive displays and sounds and a nature quest interactive gallery.
