Sir Richard Arkwright's showpiece Masson Mills on the river Derwent at Matlock Bath, Derbyshir are recognised as the finest and best preserved example of one of Arkwright's mill and the best remaining example of an eighteenth century cotton mill. They now house a shopping village and Working Textile Museum where visitors can experience a genuine atmosphere of the mills by stepping back in time to see authentic historic textile machinery spinning yarn and weaving cloth.
