Harcastle Crags near Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire is a beautiful wooded valley with natural and industrial history interest. Crags rise above steeply sided valley. Riverside walks beside Hebden Water take you through varied deciduous woodland and past a 19thC cotton mill. This woodland Pennine valley is a rich habitat for flora and fauna and is home the Northern hairy wood ant. Guided-walks and orienteering courses are available. The recently conserved Gibson Mill offers education and conference facilities, tours and refreshments.
