Shibden Hall, dating originally from c1420, is a distinctive half-timbered building furnished in the styles of 17thC, 18thC and 19thC. An important 17th century aisled barn houses a collection of horse-drawn vehicles, while in the outhouses is a collection of 19thC craft tools relating to rural industries. The hall was the home of the noted 19thC diarist Anne Lister. The hall is set in a 90-acre park with traditional amusements laid on all year.
