Waterford House is a 5 diamond Gold Award winning fully licensed Georgian Grade II listed guest house with a superb reputation for food and wine. Drinks can be taken on the patio or perhaps guests may prefer to sip a glass of Champagne at the summer house in the walled garden. The very relaxing country house style atmosphere includes 4-poster rooms, luxuriantly furnished with antiques and sporting memorabilia. The Drawing Room and Hallway have open fires in season. We are now a strictly non smoking establishment. Waterford House is situated on the main square of Middleham, a delightfully unspoilt historic market town with its own mediaeval castle having been a residence of King Richard Third. Middleham is known as the Newmarket of the North having a number of race horse training yards around us. The horses being a delight to watch walking to and from the gallops, whilst enjoying breakfast in our dining room. There are a good number of race courses within easy reach should guests wish to enjoy a days racing. The immediate countryside offers memorable walking or should guests prefer a more sporting day there are several golf courses within 30 minutes drive, or we shall be pleased to arrange some clay shooting and pony trekking.
