Closer to home the small village of Crosthwaite has 2 welcoming Lakeland hostelries serving drinks and good food both of which are easily reached on foot. Walking is of course very popular and a number of walks can be enjoyed literally from the doorstep in Crosthwaite. In Springtime the whole valley is a cloud of white as the damsons for which the area is renowned come into blossom. The stunning beauty of the area is not restricted to the Spring and visitors at any time of the year will take away happy memories of their stay.
