A gracious country house, first built in 1780 and added to in later years, stands 600 ft above the River Tyne but only 1 mile from Hexham. Set in 9 acres of grounds open to the public 3 or 4 times a year and featured on Tyne Tees Television in the Autumn 2004. The extensive garden provides flowers and vegetables all year round, with panoramic views of the Tyne Valley.
The drawing-room is large, 40ft x 20ft with a plaster ceiling and marble chimney piece furnished with antiques and family portraits. In the winter there is a smaller sitting-room if there are only 2 staying. Guests can have a full English breakfast served in the dining-room.
Loughbrow is near to the Roman Wall and with ancient Hexham at the bottom of the hill. It is within easy distance of the Lake District, Durham and many National Trust properties that abound in Northumberland. Ample parking. Total peace and quiet.
