Fosse Manor Hotel

Fosse Manor Hotel
Type : Hotel
Location : Stow-on-the-wold

It's not just about the perfect food served by the enthusiastic chef Tom Rains, or the charming Cotswold villages that surround it.

Neither is it about the excellent location in Stow on the Wold. Batsford, the finest arboretum is five miles down the road, whilst four miles to the south-west is Bourton on the Water, with its model railway, Birdland and Dragonfly Maze. the regency Spa town of Cheltnham is a 30 minute drive away, and the sleeping spires of Oxford and Stratford are just 40 minutes by car.

The Fosse Manor Hotel has its own inimitable style of tradition and contemporary design, which creates a relaxed and stylishly simple environment, whilst retaining the character of a traditional country house hotel.

The designers have retained their original features of the 103-year -old former rectory whilst giving it a more contemporary twist through the use of colour and fabrics. There's even a four poster bed in one of the spacious executive rooms. All the public rooms have been transformed as have all the bedrooms that have been given their own unique style.

The new ground floor rooms in the Coach House each have a private garden or patio area. All rooms have either a Playstation or a DVD player with free games and DVD's

Fosse Manor aims to offer the best value for money, both from the standard of accommodation to the pricing of the menus and dishes in the 2 restaurants.

Its success is hugely to do with its staff. They are the most important asset, Fosse has many dedicated people, and some have worked at the hotel for over a decade.

The Fosse Manor is used to arranging conferences and prides itself on the flexibility of its approach, preferring the client to dictate every aspect of their needs. Conference formats have included barbecues, al-fresco meetings and power breakfasts. The main conference room allows seating for up to 60 delegates theatre style, 26 delegates boardroom style and 30 delegates classroom style.

Executive chef Tom Rains comes from nearby Broadway, another of the Cotswold's hot tourist spots, but spent a decade away learning his trade in London. He was at Claridge's and also with the highly regarded Anton Mosimann.
