Susan and Malcolm welcome you to Newtown Farm bed & breakfast a family-run working farm located directly on Hadrian's Wall on the site of the Valium. The stone buildings on the farm date back to 1722. One of which has its original sandstone slates and dove cotes. Drying room & cycle lock up are provided. A short walk past our lovely village green down a country lane takes you to the village of Irthington to the Saluation Inn where Tim & Jane serve lovely fresh-made food, well recommended. Also pop into our friendly village shop and post office. With many places of interest to visit, the historic city of Carlisle with its 900-year-old castle and impressive Cathedral. A short drive through the small market town of Brampton with its Moot Hall, tea shops and antique centre takes you to a local beauty spot of Talkin Tarn with tranquil woodland walks. We are within easy driving distance for the Lake District and the Scottish Borders being just 8 miles from Gretna Green famous for run away marriages with Gateway village a paradise for shoppers.
