The Southernhay is ideally situated at the head of Alum Chine (Wooded Ravine) leading down to the sea and miles of safe, sandy beaches.

There is a varied range of good and reasonably priced restaurants in Westbourne shopping centre, only a 3 minute walk from the hotel. The Bournemouth International Centre, cinemas, Theatres, Restaurants, Clubs and Pubs are all within easy reach as are a host of sporting and fitness facilities; minutes by car or the frequent bus service.

Alternatively why not take a leisurely stroll along the traffic free promenade to the pier and award winning gardens. Nearby attractions include Poole Quay, Compton Acres Gardens, and the historic towns of Christchurch and Wimborne. There are wonderful walks through the nearby purbeck hills and also the New Forest for the more energetic.
