The Garden House

The Garden House
Type : Self-Catering
Location : Hebden Bridge

The Manor House is a 16th century listed building, with one addition in the 18th century and now The Garden House addition in the 21st century. There is a single external front door leading to a flagged entrance hall and 2 internal front doors.

The front door of the Garden House leads to the living area with full height windows giving wide ranging views over Upper Calderdale. On the oppsosite side is a fully fitted kitchen and the door to a luxurious shower room. Upstairs is a galleried bedroom with twin beds and fitted furniture, with the same views. French windows open on to a flagged terrace leading to the 0.25ha landscaped garden. Fruit and vegetables in season may be available to our guests, as is our own honey and jam.

Lower Rawtonstall is about a mile out of the town at 850 feet on the side of the Calder Valley, above most of the noise and lights. It offers space, freedom and beautiful countryside. It is on a network of bridleways, including the Mary Townley Loop and footpaths, being less than a mile from the Pennine Way. Hebden Bridge offers fine, local, independent shops and restaurants as well as cruising on the Rochdale Canal. Local towns include Halifax (Piece Hall and Shibden Hall), Haworth (Bronte Museum), Keighley (K&WV Railway, East Riddlesden Hall), Burnley (Towneley Hall) and Padiham (Gawthorpe Hall). The excellent rail service makes visits to Leeds or Manchester very easy.
